Islamic Cultural Foundation Basel since 2009<\/h2>\n<\/div><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n

The Islamic Cultural Foundation BS was established in Basel in 2009. Its main objectives are to serve Islam and the Muslim community in Basel and throughout Switzerland.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The purpose of the foundation is to establish and operate a mosque with 150 places as well as an Arabic school, and to promote Islamic culture and support Muslims in practicing their religion, particularly in the Basel region.<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n

Centre Activities<\/h2>

The Islamic Centre contributes to strengthening the Islamic presence in the city of Basel and strives to meet the needs of the Muslim community while conveying an accurate image of Islam. This is achieved through various activities for both Muslims and non-Muslims, including:
Delivering the Friday sermons (Khutbah)
Organizing courses and lectures for the Muslim community inside and outside the Islamic Centre in Arabic and German.
Special religious courses for women as well as Qur\u2019an recitation (Tajweed) classes.
A school for boys and girls to teach the Arabic language, Islamic studies, and the memorisation of the Holy Qur\u2019an.
Introducing Islam through lectures and activities outside the mosque, during which Islamic publications are distributed.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n

Centre Activities<\/h2>

Conducting visits to Muslim prisoners inside and outside the city of Basel for religious guidance and support.
Visiting Muslim patients to support and comfort them and their families.
Organising communal iftar meals for Muslims during the blessed month of Ramadan.
Holding collective celebrations for Muslims inside and outside Basel on the days of Eid al-Fitr and Eid al-Adha.
Participating in seminars organised by the City of Basel, explaining the issues faced by Muslims, and seeking appropriate solutions.
Organising leisure activities such as Islamic trips, outings, and social gatherings for children and adults.
Community activities to represent the centre before government authorities and to convey a realistic and positive image of Islam.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n
