It is the pillar of the religion upon which it stands, as mentioned in the noble hadith:\n\u201cThe matter is Islam, its pillar is prayer, and the peak of its summit is striving in the path of Allah.\u201d (At-Tirmidhi)<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>Prayer is the first act of worship that Allah, the Most High, prescribed after the two testimonies of faith. Pure water is used and the intention for ablution is made. Then one says \u201cBismillahi r-Rahmani r-Rahim\u201d and washes in the following order:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>the hands up to and including the wrists (3 times),<\/li>\n<li>rinse the mouth (3 times),<\/li>\n<li>clean the nose by inhaling and expelling water (3 times),<\/li>\n<li>wash the face including the forehead and chin (3 times),<\/li>\n<li>wash the right forearm from the elbow to the wrist (3 times),<\/li>\n<li>wash the left forearm from the elbow to the wrist (3 times),<\/li>\n<li>wipe over the head with wet hands,<\/li>\n<li>wipe the ears and the back of the ears with the hands,<\/li>\n<li>wash the right foot first (3 times),<\/li>\n<li>and then the left foot including the ankles (3 times).<\/li>\n<li><span>Nach der Waschung kann man ein kurzes Gebet sprechen: \"Allah, mach mich zu einem der Reumutigen und mach mich zu einem sich Reinigenden\"<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div>\n\n<div class=\"et_pb_text_4 et_pb_text et_pb_bg_layout_light et_pb_module et_block_module\"><div class=\"et_pb_text_inner\"><p><span>After major ritual impurity (such as after marital relations, ejaculation, or menstruation), a full ritual bath (ghusl) is required to restore purity. First, the soiled parts of the body are thoroughly cleaned. Then wudu is performed as described above. After that, wet fingers are passed through the hair down to the scalp.
